Get a quote on one like thisThe second knife to come out of the Stigall Bladeworks home shop, this piece continued the experimentation that began with Knife No. 1 while taking the design in a completely different direction.
Forged from an AK&T high-carbon railroad spike, the blade was shaped into a compact mini seax, drawing inspiration from the straightforward geometry and distinctive profile of the traditional seax. The railroad spike was transformed almost completely, with the original material taking on a much cleaner, more purpose-driven blade shape.
Instead of a conventional handle, the tang was finished with a black paracord wrap. The simple construction keeps with the rugged character of the piece while providing a secure grip and giving the knife a distinctly utilitarian appearance.
As Knife No. 2, this piece represents another early step in the development of Stigall Bladeworks, the beginning of experimenting with different profiles, construction methods, and ways of turning simple pieces of steel into something entirely new.
