Each knife is made from 1084 high-carbon steel, with a clean, straightforward blade profile designed to slice through steaks and other proteins without relying on serrations. The result is a true cutting edge that can be maintained and sharpened for years of continued use.
The handles are shaped from black walnut and secured with brass pins, giving the set a warm, traditional appearance while allowing each piece of wood to retain its own grain and character. The handles were individually shaped by hand, so subtle differences remain from knife to knife—part of what separates a handmade set from something produced on an assembly line.
Together, the four knives represent another side of Stigall Bladeworks: taking the same attention given to field and working knives and bringing it to something meant to be used around the table.
